Guess what came in the mail TODAY?!?!?!
My FREE Valspar paint sample and kit!
They were giving them away every day in March. I wish I had known sooner....
Here it is!
I ordered the sample of "Malted Milk." It came with a small sample, a tiny paint roller (with an extra roller sponge-y thing.), 2 tiny plastic paint pans, co-ordinating paint chips and a $5 coupon!
All of that for FREE!!! I know it's just a sample set, but I cannot explain how excited I was about it!
I wasn't a fan of some of the color choices they sent... but I loved the paint that I ordered. I of course had to try it out immediately. I headed out to the garage (which I am currently in the process of cleaning/organizing...) and got out my huge bucket of white paint and painted over some patches in my laundry room. As soon as that dried, I busted open my sample...
Okay, so it's not the best picture. My laundry room is small, windowless, and the victim of bad lighting. Either way, I love the color - and I found a color that will go great with it!
Some big things are coming for my laundry room. I'll keep you updated.
Also today...
I saw a clip on pinterest on how to whiten and brighten your whites. I knew I had to try it. I have some white clothes that I don't want to throw away, but make me sad because they aren't the whitest anymore...
For example: the dress I want to wear for Easter. It was my High School graduation dress. (Since we've joined a new church no one has seen me wear it. This is mainly because of the stains around the armpits and neck. Also up: one of my simple white tanks.
Told you so...
Which did this:
You can still see just a bit of stains... but they're much less noticeable!
So... I then tried this:
Which I read did the same thing, but was cheaper in the long run... (Also, shocked the mess out of me when I poured it out and discovered that it wasn't a liquid.) And it did this:
That's right... other than a little bit of makeup stain still at the top, the stains I had on my dress are gone! No more underarm stains!!! My tank got a little better, but it was hard to tell until it dried.
So there you have it.
My walls are a little lighter and my clothes a little whiter.
Here's to tomorrow's that are a little bit brighter...
Good Morning Cinderelli
ReplyDeleteDid you purchase the white bright locally or did you have to order it? It was an amazing transformation on that dress.
Old Gray Mare
I couldn't find it anywhere at Walmart (which was where I bought the Rit.) I ended up finding it hiding near the Shout at Bi-Lo. It really did do an awesome job on the dress. You can't really tell how wonderful of a job it did 'cause the pictures aren't that great - but it saved my dress! I'll be wearing that for easter after all...
