27 weeks

How Far Along? 27 weeks and 1 day! FYI I calculated the other day and we have 12 Saturday's (including her due date) left! But, since we cant count on anything after 37 weeks, we can't count on 4 of those Saturdays. I have plans for 5-6 of the remaining Saturdays. That means that Ben and I have 2-3 Saturdays to have everything ready and enjoy being "Just us." Scary and exciting all at the same time!
Baby Size: We're between 14.5 - 16.5 inches and about 2lbs
Total Weight Gain: I'm guessing we're up around 20lbs
Maternity Clothes: I'd like to wear PJ's all day, but that's not acceptable in society.
Stretch Marks: None yet that I see. Hopefully it'll stay that way...
Best moment this week: Getting some more nursery things from Heather!
Miss Anything?
Movement: Lord have mercy, can she move! She kicks at most any kind of pressure on my belly. She kicks for Ben the most, which is super cute... but when I want her to show off for people, she'll run and hide... I know people think I'm lying about how crazy and wiggly she is.
Food Cravings: I really wanted ribs today. I also really like having my Saturday morning French Toast. I really like having my milk in the morning.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Anything super greasy.
Started to show yet? Yep! Some people think I look like I'm due any day, and some can't believe that I only have around 12 weeks to go... but they all agree that I look pregnant now.
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? Ben told me yesterday: "I can see your belly button through your clothes!" and laughed when I told him I was seriously thinking about taping it down. At least it's not as far out as it could be... ALSO around my belly button is slightly blue-ish...
Wedding Rings on or off? On - but this morning my hands became so swollen that I had to take them off in the middle of church.
Weird Pregnancy Stuff? I HAVE THE WEIRDEST DREAMS IN THE WORLD. So far, I've nursed a litter of puppies and a few calves... then the other night, I squeezed a two foot plus, black inch worm/ blackhead out of my cheek. You think that's gross? You should have been in my dream.

I'm starting to waddle. I try to avoid it, but if I stand/walk or sit too long, my tailbone starts to hurt and my nerves get all pinch-y.

I'm fighting exhaustion on a regular basis.

Looking forward to: Holding my baby!

26 weeks!

How Far Along? 26 weeks and 2 days. FYI: There are only like 74 days until we hit Term and 96 days until our due date!
Baby Size: We're somewhere around 15 inches long and 2 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: According to the Doctors scale on Wednesday, I am officially 17lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity Clothes: Only.
Stretch Marks:  None yet that I see...
Best moment this week: Two things: One: Yard-Sale-ing. I bought her so many clothes and books! Two: Really getting to see her move around!
Miss Anything? Steamed Oysters. Ham and Cheese Sandwiches.
Movement: Okay, she is something! Last night she was really showing off for me and her daddy. We were just sitting in the bed... just talking and watching my belly move... I mean, it can be slightly weird... but THEN... a random body part stuck WAAAAAYYYY out and rolled across my belly! I'll be honest, we both freaked out a little. It's cool and super weird all at once.
Food Cravings: It's not really just about cravings anymore. I might not even think I'm hungry, but I figure I better eat a little to make sure that I keep baby fed... and then I eat a little more, and more, and more, and more... and before I know it, I just finished pretty much everything on the table...
Anything making you queasy or sick: Greasy and salty foods do not appeal to me AT ALL now.
Started to show yet? I don't think there's any denying it any more.
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? It's an innie/flattie/outie??
Wedding Rings on or off? On
Weird Pregnancy Stuff? Passed my Gestational Diabetes test! BTW It really wasn't that bad! I had gotten a heads up from my friend Emily to get the Red drink - because it tastes like Hawaiian Punch. And I had heard from my friend Jennifer that the orange drink tastes HORRIBLE. So, I made sure to ask for the Red one. It really did taste like Hawaiian Punch! Now, granted, it was no fun just having plain toast for breakfast... but oh well.

The night before, I decided I COULD NOT TAKE THE HEARTBURN ANYMORE. I had went to bed a little early, and by the time that Ben had crawled in the bed, I was hopping out and running to the bathroom. My acid reflux had backed up into my mouth! I had to sleep sitting up the rest of the night. I told the Doctor and let me tell you, ZANTAC is a life saver. LIFE. SAVER.

I'm super emotional right now. Especially when it comes to babies. And babies being born. Birth stories make me cry with happiness... and when I say cry, I mean like uncontrollable sobbing. This week, like 4 babies were born (The new prince included!) and it makes me sooo happy.
I get worried (What's new?), worried about time running out, worried that my baby wont like me, etc, etc.

I've also become such a creeper. For quite a while now, I've had to fuss at Ben for checking out and talking to all the babies when we go out in public... but now, I'm the creeper checking out all of the babies. I'm obsessed! I'm checking out their clothes, their looks... cute little baby fat rolls and noses...  (what will my baby look like?!),  strollers and car seats...

Looking forward to: Holding my little baby!!

25 weeks

How Far Along? 25 weeks and 1 day
Baby Size: I think it's an eggplant?
Total Weight Gain: Okay, so the other day it looks like I've gained about 7 lbs in a month... but I'll find out for sure on Wednesday. (If it's right, then I'm already up 20lbs... scary...)
Maternity Clothes: Are the best. I'm really enjoying dresses these days.
Stretch Marks:  None yet that I see...
Best moment this week: Seeing my baby girl... and the other night when she really put on a show for us! It was so weird to watch my belly roll and pop and wiggle so much! It's freakish and sweet all at the same time. :)
Miss Anything? Steamed Oysters. Ham and Cheese Sandwiches.
Movement: Boy can she move!
Food Cravings: Sweet - all the time with the sweet!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Greasy and salty foods do not appeal to me AT ALL now.
Started to show yet? After I got dressed for work on Friday, I looked in the mirror and thought: "Man, from the front I don't look pregnant! Go me!" For the rest of the day, I would proceed to run into people who commented they could definitely tell I was pregnant by my large, protruding belly.
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? It's an innie/flattie/outie??
Wedding Rings on or off? On
Weird Pregnancy Stuff? Nothing too strange right now. Just tired and hungry. The fat feeling and ugly days seem to be becoming more and more frequently. It's hard to make myself get up and do my hair and make-up, but if I don't I feel like a toad.

Oh, the breathing thing is getting more difficult... and happens at random. It's like I can't quite get enough air. Guessing this is the part where she's squishing my lungs up. Oh well, I've learned that a warm bath and stretching out on the bed pretty much cures a lot. (Except for heartburn. It does not cure heartburn. So maybe adding a couple of tums and lying in a propped up position would make that scenario more accurate.)

Looking forward to: Next doctors appointment. Sort of. I'm having the whole glucose test done... at 8:35 in the morning... and I'm not allowed any sweets... (an egg and plain toast or plain cheerios and 2% milk are my options for breakfast.) Heck, they told me not to even brush my teeth! Y'all pray I pass this thing...

That whole "nesting" thing. I know time is running short, but I'm too stinking tired to get up and clean.

2 more weeks till the 3rd Trimester!!

Also, call me a dork, but totally waiting on the Duchess of Cambridge to go into labor! I can't help it! They seem like such nice people and she's so darn pretty and stylish! I'm happy for them!

Babymoon - and the face that (currently) only a mother could love

So, we took our vacation/babymoon (yeah, we're so Hollywood!) last week.

We headed off to dear old Charleston!

We stayed at the Econo Lodge in North Charleston. I was a little worried at first, because I booked ahead of time - and they had a no refund policy... (And how many times have you heard something good about an Econo Lodge?) but it was the only hotel that had 3 pages of good reviews - and they were all recent!

Turned out to be wonderful! The staff was super friendly and helpful - and the place was sparkling clean to boot! (There wasn't even dust behind the toilet!)

I told you it was clean! I love a good clean room. I get nervous about hotels. I'm not a fan of bugs... and there was this time in college that everyone was freaked out by a bed bug infestation. I really don't want to deal with those...

It may have not been top of the line, but it was perfect for me and Ben!

P.S. We found Nemo at the local Chinese restaurant!

It's a little harder to handle the heat now... sometimes you just have to do what ya got to do!

Random in the market: In case there's any confusion...

Ben made a friend.

It was a great vacation, but I was soooo tired! I ended up napping EVERY DAY. And it took me about a day and a half to recover from the 3 hour drive.

While we were down there my Braxton Hicks contractions started to worry me. I told Ben that if they kept it up, I would call the doctor on Monday.

Monday went okay. Baby was crazy active... but then Tuesday happened. I'm really embarrassed about this next part... I really debated on not including this... but I want to be honest, so here goes...

On Tuesday, I had three Braxton Hicks during the morning. They were a little stronger than normal. I called the doctor three times before I had the guts to leave a message for the phone nurse to call me back. (I knew I was just being a worry wart, but I didn't want something to happen to my baby and I let it happen because I was embarrassed.) I explained what was happening, and the nurse told me to come in so that they could check me out.

We got there a little by three. I stepped on the scale... (That one shocked me a lot. I interrupted myself mid-sentence with a "Holy Cow!") They took my blood pressure. (All good.) I peed in a cup. (That turned out okay too.) Then they took me back for an ultrasound. They measured my cervix. (We're at a 3.7 now. As I so eloquently exclaimed: "Oh wow, we grew!") and then we took a look at my fluid and the baby. (Also, all good!) My precious little girl has gotten so big and so sweet! Everything was good - baby is currently in the Frank Breech position. Her boney little hiney is sitting right on... well, everything... and her feet are in front of her face. (She's a flexible little one! Also explains why I'm always talking about her bouncing around on my bladder and whacking me in the privates!
(We got a quick little picture in 3D too!)

I'll be honest, early 3D shots usually creep me out a little... but not this one. I can't stop staring at her. Everyone else I show it to doesn't seem as impressed as I am... (Maybe it has to do with the lack of fat, the presence of wrinkles and strange, unidentifiable, inter-uterine... stuff?)

I'm all sappy and weepy like "ISN'T SHE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LITTLE ANGEL EVER SENT FROM HEAVEN?!?!!?"

Everyone else is all like: "That's nice..."

(Ben loves her, but he's still thinking the 3D is a little freaky. At least he agrees that she has some serious F.P. AKA: Fat Potential. And people - especially my husband - love them some chunky babies.

I guess I know the meaning of the phrase: A face only a mother could love.

Whatever.

Just wait - I'm sure the rest of the world will agree with me soon. :)

24 weeks

How Far Along? 24 weeks and 1 day
Baby Size: I think it's a cantaloupe?
Total Weight Gain: Who knows? I go for a check up next week though, so we'll be able to update this part soon!
Maternity Clothes: They are wonderful. I can't find many types of clothes that I can still squeeze into anymore. I have to say though, dresses are my favorite.
Stretch Marks:  None yet that I know of... but I have a sneaky suspicion that I know where a couple will be when this is all over...
Best moment this week: The whole vacation. I slept so much! It was wonderful getting away with the hubs! It was quiet, peaceful, and we both got some much needed rest!
Hitting the point of viability. It's sad, but my worry-wart side breathed a *small* sigh of relief on Saturday.
Being able to use baby's name non-stop while on vacation! :) Also, buying her first monogrammed hair bow! (We're still debating on whether we should share her name any time soon. Right now we're thinking about keeping it our little secret until she's born... there's something special about just us knowing her name. :) I'm proud of us, so far we've kept it quiet since 15 weeks.)
Miss Anything? Not really.
Movement: Oh yeah! You remember last week when I said that caffeine didn't do anything for my child? Yeah, I totally spoke too soon. While on vacation, I had ONE chocolate espresso truffle. (We're talking a candy the size of a quarter.)... yeah she went nuts! It wasn't like "Oh hey Mommy! That was good!" it was more like "HEY MOM!!! HOLY MOLY THAT WAS AWESOME!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT TO GO TO SLEEP?!?! WHO NEEDS SLEEP!?!?! LET'S BOUNCE AROUND HALF THE NIGHT!!!"
Those Braxton Hicks really tick her off too... She has some aggravated movement immediately afterward.
Food Cravings: Chocolate and Ice Cream my friends, Chocolate and Ice Cream.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing much right now.
Started to show yet? Yep! Though occasionally I do still have a couple people ask.
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? It's still an innie - but it's a weird looking innie.
Wedding Rings on or off? On
Weird Pregnancy Stuff?
Braxton Hicks. For real, those things can be scary and they happen more than I (and the baby) like.
Zits on my face...
Bumps on my back and chest. They kind of look like zits... but they're not? They're just hard little bumps. Grr..
Having to pee ALL OF THE TIME. You know it's bad when your husband tells you to go to the bathroom before you go anywhere - because you know you'll have to go in five minutes.
Spider veins are starting to show up on my legs.
Sleep and breathing are both getting more difficult.
Also, some Ser-ious back pain. (Thanks to all of the ladies who helped me out on Facebook the other day! I thanked Jesus for each of you personally!!)
Looking forward to: The next doctors appt... and the third trimester mark - can you believe it will be here in like 3 weeks?!?!

23 weeks

How Far Along? 23 weeks and 2 days
Baby Size: Every baby website and app says something different... we're somewhere between 11-13 inches long and a little over a pound.
Total Weight Gain: Haven't checked this week
Maternity Clothes:  Let's play what's worse: Wearing your husband's underwear since all of the ones you have clean no longer fit - OR - having to wear your husband's underwear UNDER your belly since they don't really fit around your belly.
Stretch Marks:  None yet that I know of...
Best moment this week: Getting 1/2 of my house clean. This is the cleanest it's been since February! Registering was pretty funny. Ben was having a blast with the little scanner gun. His rolling dialog was entertaining as always. Favorite quote of that night: "HA - HA! You got up like a pregnant lady!"... pause... "I bet people who heard that think I'm insensitive."
Miss Anything? Not really.
Movement: She still loves her Daddy the most. Also, I think when she's really going through a growth spurt, she must sleep a lot. (That's just a guess though.) BUT I noticed something weird over the last week and a half. Caffeine makes my child quiet. I know, I know. Everyone says that Caffeinated beverages should make her move and groove... but I promise, the more caffeine I drink, the quieter she gets! (Now, a McDonald's fruit smoothie really gets her going!)
Food Cravings: Cold and sweet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not eating. And over-doing it.
Started to show yet? Can't really hide it any more...
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? Sorta in but sorta flat??
Wedding Rings on or off? On.
Weird Pregnancy Stuff? Braxton Hicks. They've been happening for a while, but they really do increase if you over-do it and don't drink enough water. (Which can scare the pooh-nanny out of you!)

My belly feels like it's stretched to the limit. Which really worries me because I know we still have a LONG way to grow.

Looking forward to: Our Babymoon/Vacation! I haven't had any real, quality alone time with my husband in so long... we're just looking forward to enjoying each other and not worrying about work, family, friends, bills, cleaning... anything. Even if it rains the whole time and we hide in the room the whole time, I'm just so glad we're getting away! I'm trying to convince him that we need to turn our phones off the minute we get there and to leave them off for the duration... lol
